JW Marriott, Gurugram – Banquet Hall Sound Isolation & Acoustic Treatment
MMT Acoustix was commissioned by JW Marriott, Gurugram to design and supply a high-performance sound isolation system for its premium banquet hall, used for weddings,
conferences and large-format events. The goal was clear: keep high-energy music and event noise contained within the hall while maintaining the hotel’s luxury ambience.
A multi-layer solution combining SoundBlanket® membranes, BassBloc® low-frequency absorbers and premium Turkish rugs was engineered across walls and floors. The result is
a banquet space that can host powerful events without disturbing guest rooms and adjacent hotel areas, delivering a truly five-star acoustic experience.

System Goal:
Create a fully contained acoustic environment within the banquet hall so that weddings and high-energy events can run at full intensity with negligible disturbance to adjoining rooms and corridors, in line with JW Marriott’s luxury hospitality standards.

Containing High-Energy Events in a Luxury Hotel
The JW Marriott banquet hall regularly hosts weddings, corporate events and celebrations, generating high sound levels. The challenge was two-fold:
- Noise Containment: Prevent loud music, bass and crowd noise from travelling into guest rooms and adjacent hotel operations.
- Luxury Experience: Maintain a premium acoustic and visual experience inside the hall that aligns with the hotel’s five-star positioning.

- Installed SoundBlanket® 4 mm behind wall finishes to block airborne sound.
- Added BassBloc® 40 mm within the wall build-up to control low-frequency transmission.

Floor Soundproofing
- Applied SoundBlanket® 2.5 mm across the floor as an impact noise isolation layer.
- Finished with premium Turkish rugs to add both visual luxury and additional absorption.
- System helps reduce footfall noise and bass vibrations travelling to lower levels.
Hospitality-Grade Detailing
- All materials selected for durability, safety and compatibility with hotel operations.
