Indicatively 0.25 at 4 mm. That figure is measured in house and is not independently tested or third-party certified, so it should not be used for a tender submission that requires a lab report. Carpet is chosen mainly for impact noise and underfoot comfort rather than for absorption.

Does an acoustic carpet reduce footfall noise?

Yes, that is its main acoustic job. The felt backing damps impact energy from footfall and moved furniture before it enters the slab, which is what neighbours below actually hear. For airborne noise between floors you need a mass layer such as SoundBlanket MLV, not carpet.

What size are the tiles?
