Cookie Policy
This page lists the cookies and similar technologies mmtacoustix.com uses, what each one is for, who sets it and how long it lasts, together with how to turn them off in your browser. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. When you return, the browser sends it back, which is how a site recognises the same visitor or the same session. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company whose content appears on the page, such as an embedded video or map, are third-party cookies.
Similar technologies do the same job by other means. Local storage keeps data in the browser rather than in a cookie file, and a pixel or beacon is a tiny image whose loading tells a server that a page was opened. Where this policy says “cookies” it means all of these.
Why we use them
This is a business-to-business catalogue site, not a shop, so we use very few. The ones we do use exist to keep the site working, to stop automated abuse of our enquiry forms, and to tell us in aggregate which pages and products people actually read so we know what to improve.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share what they collect with advertisers or data brokers.
The categories we use
- Strictly necessary
- Needed for the site to load, to route your request, and to tell a genuine visitor from a bot when you submit a form. The site cannot work properly without these, so they are set without asking. Blocking them may stop our forms from submitting.
- Performance and analytics
- Tell us how many people visited, which pages they read and roughly where they came from, in aggregate. We use these to decide what to write and fix.
- Functional
- Remember a choice you made, such as a video quality setting on an embedded player.
- Advertising and targeting
- We set none on this website.
Cookies on this site
The table below lists what mmtacoustix.com uses. Names and durations are set by the provider and can change when they update their service.
| Cookie | Set by | Category | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Strictly necessary | Distinguishes a human visitor from an automated one so that our pages and forms are not abused by bots. | 30 minutes |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Strictly necessary | Records that a security challenge was passed, so you are not challenged again on every page. | Up to 1 year |
| __cfruid | Cloudflare | Strictly necessary | Keeps your requests on the same server for the duration of a visit. | Session |
| cf_chl_* | Cloudflare Turnstile | Strictly necessary | Runs the bot check shown on our quotation, dealership and consultation forms. | Session |
| PHPSESSID | mmtacoustix.com | Strictly necessary | Holds your session while a form is being completed and submitted. | Session |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Cloudflare | Performance | Counts page views and referrers without a cookie and without tracking individuals across sites. | No cookie stored |
| wistia, wistia-video-* | Wistia | Performance | Set only on pages carrying an embedded Wistia video. Remember playback position and quality, and count plays. | Session to 2 years |
| NID, CONSENT | Functional | Set only on our contact page, by the embedded Google map. Store map preferences and your Google consent state. | Up to 2 years |
Third-party content
Some pages embed content hosted by another company. When that content loads, the provider can set its own cookies and see your IP address and the page you are on. We do not control those cookies and cannot read them.
- Cloudflare: serves and protects the whole site, including the bot check on our forms
- Wistia: the video player used on some product and project pages
- Google Maps: the office location map on the contact page
- Google Fonts: the typefaces used across the site, which are requested from Google servers but do not set a cookie
Each provider publishes its own privacy and cookie notice, which governs what it collects.
Our retail store
Our online store at mmtacoustixonline.com runs on a separate e-commerce platform and uses a different and larger set of cookies, including cart, checkout and marketing cookies. This policy does not cover it. Please read the cookie notice published on that site.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Every major browser lets you refuse all cookies, refuse third-party cookies only, or clear the ones already stored.
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop our enquiry forms from submitting, because the security check they depend on will not complete. Blocking third-party cookies will stop embedded videos and the contact-page map from working as intended, but the rest of the site will be unaffected.
Most browsers also offer a “do not track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not currently act on it.
Your consent
Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot function without them. For anything else, continuing to browse the site indicates your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by clearing and blocking cookies in your browser as described above.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when we add or remove a tool that sets cookies. The effective date at the top always shows the current version.
